Internet Billing Going Up?
An article on CBC said that the government may be increasing the amount of money for the amount of extra gigabytes that we use, such as downloading movies. I just think that this whole commotion with the internet is not necessary. The government should not make us pay more money for the internet just because we use more internet. Like the protestors said during the protest: “We’re really scared that Canadians are just going to become too passive about it, and they will simply omit the whole situation and forget about it.” This quote really got my attention. Not all of us really care about what goes on in the media, especially at our age. We don’t care. As teenagers of the Z Generation, we use the internet on a daily occurance and we don’t look at how much more this will cost. I think that through this protest, these protestors will get their message across that we all need to help each other fight the government on this issue and bring to their attention that we shouldn’t need to pay more for internet.
Social Media Revolution
This video interested me by telling me that facebook would be one of the most populated countries in the world if it were a country. I think that this movie was a wake up call to what social media does to our lives and how we live everyday in social media. This video showed us how through our social media, we find significant others and we are going to work with social media when we step out into the real world and find jobs. I think that through this movie, we can learn just how much facebook and other social networking sites influence our world and how these sites influence our learning as students. I’m not saying that social networking is a bad thing…. I do it quite frequently, but I think that because our generation uses it so frequently that it could harm the new generation of users.
